Tom Robinson started his career in landscaping back in 2004 when he worked for a local landscape contractor who specialised in high end domestic construction. After working there for two years, Tom decided that he wanted to progress his career within the industry and enrolled at Writtle College to study Landscape Construction. As part of his course, he spent a ‘sandwich year’ at one of the largest landscape contractors in the country where he quickly progressed to an office based position within the company. During this time, he worked in the Design and Build and Commercial departments, where he worked on award winning contracts such as Chiswick Park.
Since graduating from Writtle College in 2008, Tom worked as Contracts Manager for some of the most respected landscape contractors in the country and worked on a combination of high end domestic projects as well as large scale commercial contracts. During this time, Tom was part of the management team of a gold medal winning garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. The garden also won the presidents award - this was the first time a main avenue garden had achieved this.
A large part of Tom’s career has been spent working with landscape architects, principal contractors and developers on large scale commercial and housing contracts. This has helped him gain invaluable experience and understanding of the financial and time constraints these projects are under. Tom is able to work with clients to carry out value engineering and seek best value for his clients and colleagues.
With the considerable experience Tom had already gained, Tom Robinson Landscaping was formed in 2019. Working in both the domestic and commercial sectors, Tom Robinson and his team pride themselves on offering a high quality service and with a keen eye for detail.
